We are excited to debut our new 2020 Sutphen Custom Pumper! Funding for this new apparatus was received through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. Basic bids from the suppliers of the top four apparatus manufacturers in Alabama were reviewed in October 2019 and delivery of the new apparatus was early January 2021 by Williams Fire Apparatus. The apparatus was built during the height of the pandemic of 2020 by Sutphen.

The Training Division staff planned for a number of design elements that would assist them in instructing students in classes here on campus, including Fire Apparatus Operator: Pumper and Recruit Schools. These features were incorporated in the design and the finished apparatus will be a great teaching asset for many years to come.
